I know this thread is kinda old, but im pretty much decided on the vf52 for my 08. From what ive gathered its the biggest turbo i can get without having to switch to FMIC.(cuz of IC placement so close to the turbo). Anyone think this is not a good idea or there may be a better option? Ill save up for a fmic/all supporting mods if its REALLY worth the moneyYou can run just about any turbo with a tmic, there's people running GT35Rs on TMICs. The VF52 is the 'biggest' turbo you can get without necessarily having to swap injectors, even though bigger injectors will give you a bit of headroom. IMHO, a FMIC on a VF52 is not worth the money or effort of installing.

IMHO, a FMIC on a VF52 is not worth the money or effort of installing.its not that you need the FMIC for performance reasons, but because there is no room for the intercooler with any bigger turbo than the VF52, and i will never put a FMIC on my car because they are totally unneccesary for anything i would mod on a daily driver.
I am going to upgrade injectors etc. The only problem im facing is with figuring out if i will have enough room for a bigger turbo than the vf52. I installed a VF52 turbo along with a AEM CAI and a 255 LPH fuel pump in August. The difference between the stock 08 wrx td04 and this turbo is like night and day! Currently pushing 20.5lbs of boost.
HP wise I'm not to sure where it sits. I have a friend with a stage 2 07 STi and off a light I pull away pretty good, I'd say 2-2.5 car lengths Got a map for my AP from XPT and it is great. No issues yet. I highly recommend 08 wrx owners who are looking for real power to get one of these turbo's as it was basically just a swap in from stock. Still currently use the stock intercooler, spark plugs and injectors. My local dealer's service manager is an a-hole to say the least.
Guy complains cause I wanted my front brakes and rotors done uder the 3yr/36k mile warranty. He's all like 'you got a 300 dollar job done for FREE' the nerve of this guy.Didn't think brake pads and rotors were covered under the 3 year.
Isn't that considered a wear and tear item? I know that Subaru will cover them for the first year, I mean anything is really covered under the first year but getting new brakes inside the 3? So I guess you complained the right person to get it done. Arnold Wesker The Kitchen Pdf Merge.
Fellow Scooby owners! Okay, after drowning myself and explorer tabs with brake upgrade searches, i think i have finalized my brake upgrade on my 99 Forester (drum rears), but i still have a few questions/confirmations: Originally wanted 4/2 pots, but determined LGT was the way to go. Now looking at doing the 05-09 Legacy GT calipers/brackets, front and rear. So, 1) These will bolt right up, correct? 2) This option gives me the 294mm front rotor?
3) Besides new rotors, will rear bolt right up (with 05-09 lines)? 4) Do i need anything else for rear conversion, other than brake lines, calipers, and rotors? 5) Heard this rear brake setup is better than H6 due to bigger piston and wider rotor, true? Thanks all for helping out a scooby newb! However since you need a rear HB mech to do the conversion,LGT caliper rear mounting is a thad bigger than WRX rear knuckle. You might need to customised an adapter if you chooses the WRX knuckles or best fit would be to purchase from the rear LGT HB mech.
But i wont be sure on the actual fittement to your 07 Forester. Coz this transplant LGT rear to SG9 rear is deemed rear as normally the WRX 2 pot+HB mech will be the choice.
As we speak im doin the conversion soon hope i can englighten you my findings comes this Saturday. 1) These will bolt right up, correct? 2) This option gives me the 294mm front rotor? 3) Besides new rotors, will rear bolt right up (with 05-09 lines)?
