Sorry about the problems you guys are having. I went to the website last Thursday and it didn't have pricing posted yet, so then I called Magellan's phone support to check it out. The guy said it would be available this week. I also asked him about any firmware/software update and he said he thought that was due this week. Not sure he really knew but I was going to wait and see if there was one, then download the software and then the 2010 maps. Looks like you ran into the typical 'New Magellan' performance and attention to detail so I guess you're the guinea pigs. Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass Rapidshare Premium.

Think I'll wait a while and see what success folks have here with this update. Hopefully they get it fixed promptly. Yes Sir - Finally they updated maps, just got mine, and tested it on a friends street that was not on earlier version, it's on now plus others I checked, things are looking up at Magellan. Now my life is complete, what there's newer models out 'Oh No' Well that reply didn't work out. I'd think hard about a new model, just by reviewing the website FAQ's for those models I saw a lot of Magellan quotes with 'this is a known issue'. I'm always tempted by the new and improved toy but this time I'll be a bit wiser and withold my decision, after all it's been over six months waiting for their 4700 updates to come out (not the 2010 map). Sorry about the problems you guys are having.

Can anyone say how the map update has gone as far as any POI or other differences? I was thinkin maybe I'll go with that for now.

LOstn6tz wrote: Things are looking up!!!! This part is pretty much a joke.as they seem to be struggling just to produce ONE update per YEAR. 'Lifetime Maps entitles you to receive up to four (4) map updates per year, ' I agree with you ka1167! I recently purchased a TomTom because there has not been a map update since my Maestro 4350 began being sold in October, 2008. Although LOstn6tz reports that Magellan will have a map update in June, I think 20 months is just too long when TomTom and Garmin seem to update quarterly. By the way the TomTom I purchased came with Lifetime traffic and maps. Even if Magellan got up to speed on the map updates I probally would not buy a Magellan in the future since it appears all models released since the 4350/4370 do not support custom POIs.

Dtran1 wrote: POI. I'm not certain about the lack of support for custom POIs. Note I do not own any of these models. I do not think the models since the 4350/4370 do support custom POIs based on the following: 1. Custom POIs not documented in the User Manual. (However the 4350/4370 DID support costom POIs and it was not well documented.) 2. Reviews that state the unit does not support custom POIs.

Many user's on forums asking about custom POIs for these units with no answers or other users stating they don't know either.
