Motion Computing Reinstall Firefox

The background of this issue started when I noticed that a foreign object appearing as a 'google-like' toolbar stuck to my desktop page (very top section, like a slightly bigger toolbar). Being uncomfortable with its existence, I downloaded malwarebyte and ran the program after which it disappeared. After this success, I noticed firefox wouldn't start, I doubled clicked the desktop icon (and a circular blue motion appears on the cursor momentarily) but it wont go any further. So I re-installed, no success. I uninstalled then re-installed but no success (firefox wont start). This is a bit frustrating as I have some bookmarks & profile I wont like to loose. Thanks all for your anticipated help.
